We Are The Rock

WE STAND FOR LIVES CHANGED BY CHRIST

Our Church started with a small group of people who used to congregate at Brownsburg East Middle School in the LGI room.

Our Church started with a small group of people in the LGI room at Brownsburg East Middle School with a mission to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Transforming lives one step and one person at a time.

Transformation...

Romans 12:1-2: Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18: Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

1 Corinthians 6:14: By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.

James 4:7: Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

John 8:32: Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Romans 8:6: The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

  • About God

God is the Father and Creator of the universe and mankind. Genesis 1:1-10

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.  3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.  6 And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.

9 And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.

  • Baptism

Baptism is a sign of profession and a mark of difference. It is also a sign of regeneration and new birth. We believe in the submerging of one that accepts Christ as their Lord and personal savior. Baptism is an outward expression of an enter confession. John 1:29-34.

  • About Salvation

The Assurance of Salvation What is salvation? Salvation is God’s action of grace whereby people are delivered from their sinful nature into newness and fullness of life. It is something done for us by the will and work of God, through Jesus Christ. Salvation denotes a liberation or release from the effect of sin. It is not that we are removed to a safe place in existence where danger cannot overtake us, but rather that we find an unexpected and underserved power to stand fast and not be shaken in the midst of danger.

Salvation occurs when human life is founded upon openness to God. Thus, salvation is receiving God’s love, assurance, comfort, hope, and protection.

Conditions of Salvation are when one accepts Jesus as our Lord and personal savior through faith. Salvation is only found in Jesus Christ.

Salvation includes forgiveness of sins, justification, reconciliation, redemption, sanctification, and adoption into the family of God. The book of Romans teaches us about the doctrine of salvation.  Romans 10:9-13

  • Communion

The Supper of the Lord is not only a sign of the love that Christians ought to have among themselves one to another, but rather is a Sacrament of our redemption by Christ’s death; insomuch, that to such as rightly, worthily, and with faith receive the same, the bread which we break is a partaking of the body of Christ, and likewise the cup of blessing is a partaking of the blood of Christ. Transubstantiation, or the change of the substance of bread and wine in the Supper of our Lord, cannot be proved by Holy Writ; but is repugnant to the plain words of Scripture, overthroweth the nature of a sacrament, and hath given occasion to many superstitions. The body of Christ is given, taken, and eaten in the Supper only in a heavenly and spiritual manner. And the means whereby the body of Christ is received and eaten in the Supper, is faith. The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is not by Christ’s ordinance reserved, carried about, lifted up, or worshipped.

  • About the Bible

All the books of the New Testament as they are commonly received, we do receive and account canonical.

  • Humanity

OF FREE WILL The condition of man after the fall of Adam is such that he cannot turn and prepare himself by his own natural strength and works to faith, and calling upon God; wherefore, we have no power to do good works, pleasant and acceptable to God, without the grace of God; by Christ preventing us, that we may have a good will, and working with us, when we have that good will.

OF THE JUSTIFICATION OF MAN We are accounted righteous before God only for the merit of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by faith, and not by our own works or deserving’s; wherefore, that we are justified by faith only, is a most wholesome doctrine, and very full of comfort.

OF GOOD WORKS Although good works, which are the fruit of faith, and follow after justification, cannot put away our sins, and endure the severity of God’s judgments: yet are they pleasing and acceptable to God in Christ, and spring out of a true and lively faith, insomuch that they by them a lively faith may be as evidently known, as a tree is discerned by its fruit.

What we believe

We believe the church isn't just about a building with a cross. It's about people's relationship with God and with one another. The church in a literal sense is where the people of God gather, but in a figurative sense, the church is inside our hearts established through Jesus Christ.

WE WERE MADE FOR FREEDOM

The Rock Church is a community of diverse people from all walks of life, who have decided to give Jesus the ultimate power and trust. This means we believe He will help us do what we can’t -forgive, transform, give back and nurture. We invite you to explore any of our recorded services (or stop by to see in person) to see Path's values and approach for yourself.

OUR CORE VALUES

LIVING LIFE INDIVIDUALLY,

TOGETHER

Men and women everywhere are born to live together, not alone.  As a closed-knit church, we believe we can all walk along our individual paths, together. With a strong shared sense of His love, each member of the Path community can find a way to live a wholesome life of faith while sharing the struggles, happy moments and wishes with other members of the church.

OUR CORE VALUES

MAKE OUR WORLD BETTER

At The Rock Church we see it as an imperative to consider the environment He has created for us. It is our duty to keep Earth clean and sustainable for the next generations. To make this happen, we take actions in addition to prayer. Find our how you can join the Better Earth group of the church, and volunteer in parks and beaches in our area.
